Scammers, cops, foreign agents, kids seeking porn - what's the difference? I don't see this as much nanny state as people not using common sense. Getting something illegal traced back to your wi-fi isn't going to be a happy experience for you in any case.

It's no different than protecting people through electrical codes, building codes, traffic laws, also technologies that some are totally clueless about and the harm they could cause.
