Try both methods (plug into *line in*, or use USB cord)
One of them should work.

Use Windows Media Player to check and listen to the music.

If USB works, it would probably be the best method.

Download the programme, then read the manual about importing from a tape deck with USB.

I would assume that just plugging in the USB cord is only going to work if the unit has onboard memory, if it's streaming audio at the very least you'll probably need to install the drivers.

That's why I asked what the model was.
