Hi All,

Can anyone help me figure out what is going on here? I only created a Yahoo account because I was taking a class a few years ago and we had to sign up with Yahoo to get notifications about our group. I have visited a few forums here and there but otherwise hardly visited at all in the past three or four years.

Now three separate times in the past month, I have received notification that I had supposedly changed my password. All three times the notification told me that my Yahoo ID was the word (same word all three times) which is most definitely not my ID.

So is someone trying to hack my account on purpose, or does this person just not realize that they are using the wrong Yahoo account info? It is very frustrating as Yahoo does not give me a way to keep this from happening, or to tell them that this isn't my information, they just keep telling me that if this is not my information I need to change my password.

I'm beginning to get the feeling that this person is quite determined to have this be their account. Should I just ask Yahoo to delete my account, or what?

This happened to me when I used a hotmail account. It was really embarrassing once because the criminal sent spam to business contacts. I just stopped using the account and I'll never have a free email account again. I registered a domain name with godaddy and now use that for all of my email. I have never had a problem.

Do you still have access to the account? If you haven't accessed it in a while your account may be a victim of recycling.
