I would like to know, how can I join Yahoo without giving out my mobile number? I noticed that this wasn't a problem a year ago. But now it seems that Yahoo has changed its policy and now requires mobile to join. How do I sign in without it?

If you do that it will say "invalid number"

Only way around that if you really really want to join that stupid yahoo thing is buy one of those cheap prepaid tracfones for around $10 or whatever it is now, use that and toss it away.
They require a number now so they can sell it to spammers along with your email address and make money off you when you join, same foes for facebook- they all datamine your information and sell it or otherwise make it available.

Use a disposable email such as 10minutemail.com and a tracfone and dispose of both.

If they require the number then the answer is you don't. Do they have some service that you can't get elsewhere?

Well, I am Flickr member and I had no choice. However, I entered my old land line number that is valid, but not assigned to anyone for the last 14 years
