Starting this afternoon I got a message that FF had disabled Adblock and NoScript, that they aren't supported. I'm trying to install them again, or any other ad blocker and it fails and tells me to check connections.... What does that mean? TIA

It is a Firefox problem that they claim to be working on a fix.

See what Mozilla has to say here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...nstall-firefox

At this moment my FF has not restored. Hopefully soon.

This fix worked for me:
------------------------------------------------------------------
They (Mozilla) have a temporary fix:

Go To> Options > Privacy and Security > Firefox Data Collection and Use
> Check Mark "Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data"
and
> Check Mark "Allow Firefox to install and run studies"

Extensions should activate after 2-3 minutes.

The following discussion on Reddit has more information about it as well as potential workaround, although it's not recommended in the long run.

https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/com..._addons_being/

The main thing to note is that the disabled addons should not lose your data so don't delete them whilst the issue is being resolved.

After 2 days of annoying ads, I switched to chrome w/ Ublock, privacy badger etc.
Was tempted to re-install FF, but this of course would lose all my data.
And my FF add-ons were not disabled, but rather deleted during the failed FF update Mozilla initiated.
They have until tomorrow, then I uninstall; as one cannot safely use the web anymore without a condom.

I will try that - thanks!! (It's all still disabled - so much for the 6 hr. fix).

They have released version 66.04, which includes the fix - update your Firefox, and all should work.

I switched to AdGuard, might keep that instead, seems to work just fine.
