In the last few weeks everytime I come to CD I have to login. I use Firefox which is updated to current version on Win10 Pro. I can't figure out how to stop this. Does anyone have a solution?

Sort of a known issue but this is the first I've heard of it happening on FF. FF actually works for me... Chrome does not across several devices.

Personally, I think the forum needs to be updated.

Thank you. I haven't tested it but I wasn't using the secured site. I'm pretty sure that will change the behavior now.

Noticed this some time back. I am on Chrome. Restart or clearing cookies doesn't help.

It seems that my browser stores the user name and password in cookies but does not automatically login.

So, I click login upper right, the user/pw appears in the spaces, then click login again.

It wasn't like this. Not sure what changed. I would suspect some settings in the browser. They are constantly changing things like that for the sake of security.

A password manager may also help.

The browser stores your user name and password in a file, but not (AFAIK) in a cookie, however, the browser also stores cookies for the websites, and one of them is used by CD for automatic log in. This is a function of the web site, not the browser, however, clearing cookies will prevent CD from using them to log on.

If you don't clear your cookies, and if the little "remember me" box (next to your user name, before log in) is clicked, then I don't know why it isn't automatically logging you in. The cookie is set when you log in, if you click that little "remember me" box, next to your log in name. It logs you in, the next time, before the "user name and password" screen is presented.

It was because I was using http:// instead of https://. My guess is that FF decided it was time to stop http:// sites from automatically logging in. Problem seems to be solved.

If you don't know; CD has changed to https://

Yeah, I saw that, a few months ago.
The old cookies may have had an expiration date.
(The ones in my pantry do...)

Already figured it out after how long? A long time. Never bothered me that much, it was just an extra click.

It needs https: I had http: stored in my bookmarks. Nobody ever brought it up or at least I didn't see it.

It now logs in automatically. City data itself needs a serious revamp. It still runs on vbulletin which is old and why your don't see the bells and whistles you see on other message boards.
