Tonight a warning window popped up saying my computer was infected by spyware. This thing called Zinaps has been installed somehow. It's a fake spyware. In order to remove it from your computer, it says you have to buy the registration number. I tried uninstalling it. It disappeared from my program files, but then the warning window popped up again and keeps popping up. How do I get rid of this? Is this a high-threat problem? Why did this happen?
Some of these are insidious. I would recommend turning off system restore first. After the scan is done (and reboot if required) turn it back on. If this doesn't work let us know.
Download Avast free, update it and when prompted click yes when offered real time boot scan. If its really bad download UBCD4win--its a live windows enviroment on cd which totally bypasses the harddrive. If offers some effective AV/Antimalware scanners
I was curious about what kind of software you have. Might be on thin ice if your running nekkid ... (figuratively speaking). :P
