Photos on social networking sites come back to bite defendants.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Two weeks after Joshua Lipton was charged in a drunken driving crash that seriously injured a woman, the 20-year-old college junior attended a Halloween party dressed as a prisoner. Pictures from the party showed him in a black-and-white striped shirt and an orange jumpsuit labeled "Jail Bird."

Don't drink and drive, then post on Facebook - Internet - MSNBC.com

I disagree with the practice of snooping for information off facebook, myspace, etc.

I agree with jail time for people who are arrested for drunk driving.

I think it's completely appropriate to get insight into a defendants true personality. They post all the details on their life on whatever social net site for the world to see. So why shouldn't prosecutors, judges be able to view their out of court character?

In this instance this idiot got what he deserved. I think if you post your life on the Internet then take the consequences.

Disagree or not, it's a fact of life these days. Anytime you apply for a job, you have to figure that your online presence is going to be reviewed. That's why it's better to keep your online presence anonymous.
