Has anyone else watched the "Unclaimed Dividend" video from Stansberry....it's another offer for a 'dicount' on a financial newsletter, of course, but the 'free' booklets that come with it sound intriguing. (their marketing guys are GOOD!). Anbody else watch the video or know anything about the 'unclaimed dividends' they refer to?
If you have stock, bonds, issued (not held by broker). and the stock/bond issues a dividend/Intrest and they have no where to mail the check to. After X years, the company has to send it to whatever state they are incorporated in. You can search the ?? 'unclaimed' fund in that/each state to see if that have anything in your name. all the company above do is search for you, file the claim if they find it, and charge you a fee, or a % of the money found (also some make money sell info/other sales products).
I read a similar News letter from Sean Hyman. The reports always sound SOO good but I never seem to stop the news letters in time. This one is referring to foreign companies with unclaimed dividends; mining stocks etc. I don't really have the money to invest anymore anyway, but it sounds worth investigating.
