Today could be good for taking profit and then holding the cash for the next swing down. Last Thursday I bought AKS, SWC & PCX. I also have CRUS from 9/1, which in premarket. is already popping.

Solar stocks are taking a beating. YGE and TSL are on my watch list.

Didn't quite work out as hoped. Even though 2 out of 4 stocks showed good increases and I am in profit on a third stock, it wasn't quite enough to take profits. I am confident they will all make money in the next few weeks, however, as they are good companies which are, IMHO, undervalued. So lets see what tomorrow brings.

deal is done on 99 cents store:

99 Cents Stores Agrees to $1.6 Billion Takeover - Bloomberg

modest winner from my call spread.

The deal won't close until the first quarter, so the stock could be traded until then.

Sold CRUS on Friday with 12% profit. Holding the cash and waiting for the next down swing. Maybe buy them back (again) if they drop enough.

Did the stock appreciate 12% or is the 12% figure after capital gains taxes/commissions?

There are two Big Q(s). What will the Dow be worth and what will the Dow be worth. In 1999 dollars and in the fed's printing press dollars. http://blogs.reuters.com/rolfe-winkl...ow-vs-gold.jpg This gets you a closer look. I'm thinking the Dow at 12k and the Dow at 500. 500 priced in constant dollars and 12k in what the fed's printing press is putting out. Gold $12k per oz or maybe $24k per oz. Several years ago I said $7k per oz. for the peak. But a lot of money has been printed between then and now.
