Tell me what I'm smoking

Today, I'm annoyed at the rally becoz I was hoping for disaster with cash. Everything has jumped 20% up now and there's no point buying now. But I have been diligently reading about this EURO fixpack.

It seems the leaders held a gun at the heads of the bankers.

Either take 50% Greece writedown or we'll let Greece head for insolvency and, and, and, you get Luxembourg peanuts and Belgian waffles, with a little weed from Amsterdam.

The bankers should have thought, well..... 50% is better than pastries And at least, the bondholders will have some confidence in the system, despite the 50% deal, which they too know is better than pastries.

But details, please? What is the actual agreement? Nobody knows. What is the roadmap to generating revenue? What happened to the austerity measures? Who will take care of the rest of the PIIGS? When will this short-term carousel burst open giving way to the bears? One thing though, I haven't seen all indices green in a very long time. Japan and Hong Kong were up last night, India was okay. Tonight, I hope Japan and India outrun last run's Hong Kong run. I don't follow Oz too much except for Lynas.

EUR/USD is adding pips as I type and is possible approaching 52-week high. And I want to short the EUR. Am I nuts?

Discuss away. Your inputs are greatly appreciated.

The problem is not the Euro but the relationship between the Euro and the dollar. I'm not sure that the dollar is strong enough or the Euro weak enough to make any money on shorting the Euro. You probably need to be working something like the Norwegian Krone to make money off Euro weakness and that window has probably already closed.

Of course, I could also be wrong which is why I never touch forex

One word, Jaggy. Italy. It's in a very serious fiscal situation. When Greece subsides, Italy is next. Next year will be the year of Italy. And any EU deal has to pass thru all the government parliaments.

I'm digging up info and it seems Jimmy Rogers is going long on the USD, in phases.

Jaggy is a good term... lots of sharp parts to cut the player.

Don't worry AC... it's all going to come about on time.

This current bump is so predictable is silly....

Can't say i wouldn't feign optimism in this trying time. Gov't is paid to distract from reality.

Forex is crazy.

One can get slaughtered. On the other hand, it can make you a millionaire like stocks and options can't. The acceleration is simply mind blowing. On the other hand, the slaughter is doubly damning

I'm going to follow Jimmy and go long on the dollar.

I know you're a bear. I'm generally not bearish, but there's a lot about this deal which is making me nervous. The fix is transient and is a feel good fix. The market will catch a funk pretty soon, wait for non-farm payrolls next month Actually, wait, the holiday season can up the payrolls through to January.

Ok, someone asked, this is what I'm smoking, fellas

I used to hang out in a mosque for the sheer experience of smoking this damn thing. I assure you, it's exhilarating

Ok, for some of you who may wonder how to do the hookah, here's a song. The whole hallucination starts at the start of the smoke and ends as he blows it out LOL. The best part about the hookah is that it feels 100 times better than a western form of piping/cigaretting, and the amount of smoke is immense. I used to let out better smoke than Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca
