Hello,

I am thinking about rolling over my previous employer's 401k to Etrade IRA.

Anyone have any advice on this? Or should I leave in my previous employer account?

Depends...

I left my 401k in a previous job for a long time because the fees were extremely low and it was run by fidelity....

On the other hand, if they have good fund choices, many people will roll over all previous 401ks into 1 for simplicity purposes...(i have vanguard now which arguably is one of the best companies to have a 401k/ira with...)

What company runs your previous 401k plan?

This topic has been covered at length.

That being said, I had an ETrade 401k that I rolled over to an IRA in 2002.
ETrade runs a fine brokerage service and I have no complaints.
I have also rolled over another 401k to ETrade in 2006.

I also have Schwab IRA rollovers that have worked out the same as ETrade.
