oil stocks got crushed as oil fell to 10 bucks a barrel. i played highly speculative take over stocks that carl icahn had interest in like panaco energy , gothic energy , american oil and gas ,etc.

i made alot of money but i had some big losers to whewn things didn't pan out.

I was down more than 40% during the 2008 bear market. However, that was a time when I knew a lot less about investing.

Luckily, I did not pull out any of my money but rather rode the bull market right back up.

This shows you knew a lot more about investing than the average person. Nicely done!

Since I have never been heavily invested, I can't claim I ever lost anything worth more then about 1 grand.

600 when I stupidly sold a covered call on a highly volatile stock that tanked within hours of me buying the shares and selling the call.

2008 was a solid hit to my 401k (20-30% maybe), but i actually poured more money than normal into it at that time hoping it would come back up... and it sure did. Glad i stayed with it and didn't panic!

My biggest loss was not buying more Apple stock back in the 90's before Steve Jobs came back.

You were very young with more than a million dollars? That's impressive!
