The broker/ CBOE are the ones making money!
All options and margin accounts allow is for one to leverage their speculative positions- I'm not saying there isn't a place for options as one can use them to protect an existing position but most are just gambling to a different degree by utilizing options & most loose just like most day traders loose. The successful traders are ones that have a plan & discipline- they cut their losses quick and don't get greedy on the profits. They understand the rules and have taken the time to read & learn on their own as opposed to hearing their blowhard neighbor at a cocktail party telling wild tales of how much he has made on trading options & how easy it is.
Glad to see you put your money where your mouth is and I wish you success but be prepared to have some realized capital losses next year.
