Im sure most have heard these things, but I was curious if anyone has ever gotten involved with it. I have always wondered what happens when you call. As with everything, they make it seem like sure-fire money while listening but I highly doubt that is the case.

So anyone ever called one of those numbers from the radio shows where they give you free picks? I think it works that they give you the picks free because they only get money when you win. The percentage they take Im not sure of though.

Anybody care to share an experience?

"Investing?"

That is funny in a sad way.

I would nominate this topic as the dumbest business plan on in this forum, yet.

That is impressive in itself.

Only Corporate Sports "Investors" there are the folks who own the teams and get the idiots of 'meruka to pay to put the team logos on their the clothes, and stand in line for the tickets. They is smart. All rest of the folks involved is dumb. Perfect combination.

Thanks for the reply (jk), but "sports investing" is what THEY call it (you'll notice the quotation marks). Do you see anywhere in my post where I am planning on doing this? I merely said I was curious as to what happens when you call up and get the free picks.

Okay doke. Let me check my field of fire there.

But overall, I would hope no one here would have the "experience" to know.

Having never called one before, I'll take a shot at how this scheme will play out.

1) You Call In.
2) You're greeted by a highly motivated recording.
3) After a pitch, you'll be asked to call another number for some free "locks".
4) You'll call the new number and actually talk with a living person, that knows that you're level of committment is greater than most that either never called, or hung up after the recording.
5) You'll hand over personal information (address, phone number, e-mail) etc.. which will be sold to other gambling services.
6) They'll ask for credit card verification and use the two free picks to sign you up for an annual service.
7) You'll still be a losing gambler and will have paid for the priviledged knowledge.

This is a little different, but...

I used to trade a little on Tradesports, which is a Prediction Market. But thanks to the US Congress protecting me from myself (anti-gambling legislation), the company went under:

As far as I know, the NON-sports Prediction Market, Intrade, is still operating:
Intrade Prediction Markets
Intrade - Wikipedia
I found the whole experience fascinating and enjoyable. Thanks Congress!

The thought is some of these call lines basically split the callers so they make win 50% of the time to try and gain new clients. If you are on the losing side they give more free picks until you get a winner. The experts when picking against the number aren't much better than 60%...its better than a coin flip but how much do you have to pay for the 'advantage'.

Stay completely away this is a SCAM no doubt about it.They took me for $52,000.00.Promise to hit 3 games in a row each time doubling my money.tThey said the first game hit but I had no proof of that then of course the second game lost and there went my money.tThen they keep giving you the run around saying that this never happens and more bs.Meanwhile all my money is gone and they don't care. Please don't fall for this crook operations u will regret it.Mark
