That was always one of my problems with Buffett. No hookers or blow. And not even a nice crib. Just some butt ugly batcave in Omaha. And Egg McMuffins.
my son is a partner in one of the largest labor law firms in the country ..... they have been insanely busy filing the paper work for the corporate clients who will be going from furloughs to mass lay offs ... they are required to do special filings when it involves layoffs of thousands to tens of thousands

That is my thought also. Ignoring the virus isn't going to make it go away and eventually we will have to come to terms with the fact that things are not going to be normal for quite some time. And when you have leadership saying things like too much testing is a problem because if you have more testing you have more cases, it doesn't bode well.
My county of California has been stable, it spiked up during the protests but it has backed down. Yesterday my area had zero deaths, today 4 deaths. Total in ICU is 137. That’s out of 3-4 million people, and face masks no longer required.

This is why I am still very confused about what this virus is going to do to the markets.
Look at Mathjak's post # 43 which says one thing and then your post which says the opposite and that there's really not much to worry about.
California has reached a new high in the number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19, surpassing the previous peak in late April.
As of Sunday, the latest publicly available data show that state had 3,702 hospitalized patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 1,199 were in intensive care. There were an additional 1,102 hospitalized patients with suspected COVID-19.
Hospitalizations are seen as a more reliable metric for tracking the coronavirus pandemic than new case numbers as the figure does not hinge on the availability of testing. Before Saturday set a high of 3,574, the previous record was on April 29, when 3,497 people were hospitalized in the state.
