The oil companies themselves have been investing in green energy technology and research for decades already. It's no secret that alternative energy sources are the future. To pretend otherwise is to be deeply in denial.

If dinosaur energy companies understand they need to hedge their bet and plan for the future (and they do), it's time for the little investors to accept that too.

You're confusing the stock price with the economic underpinnings for an industry. You don't seem to know anything about the industries, just the stock price and the news. Even if the stocks fall in price substantially, that doesn't change the economic facts behind the change in energy sources. It would actually accelerate the change since it would lower costs. Seeing that already for oil & gas as the price of oil is now nearly 20 percent above the price to profitably drill many of the existing formations.

I'm not confusing anything. I am looking at clean energy funding accelerating and especially with this new blue wave back it. The rocketing stock prices are a reflection of this.
