I wanted to purchase some 26 week t-bills today, they told me the minimum purchase was 3mm on the 26week. I went for the 13 week as it only required 50K. I asked the agent where could I find this info, he didn't know, it only showed up when he placed the order. I've tried search but coming up blank.
If anyone can point me to a site where I can get that info for the different CUSIP's I'd really appreciate it!
Sounds like you got bad advice (IMHO) Some would recommend a fund, which I’m not a fan of because of management fees. Me (IMHO) just bot 6-mo treasures in our kids small accounts ($1000 minimum) thru Schwab ( no transaction fees). When/if you open up a Schwab account, click on “buy bonds” and they’ll take you to a chart of versions debt instruments including treasuries with any maternity you want (ie, your 13-week request).
The minimum is $100, go to (treasurydirect.gov) click on Treasury bills and it gives you all the info you need. You can buy them direct yourself, you don't need a broker, etc. All you do is tie it to a checking acct. The interest will be deposited automatically back to that acct. Set up your own account, it's easy.

I’ve been buying Treasury Bills at auctions since the 1980s through banks and brokerages and they have always been available in increments of $1,000. Are you buying them at auction or in the secondary market? If you are buying them at auction and someone is telling you that you need to purchase a minimum of $50,000 or $3,000,000 for 26 week bills you should find a different broker.
Out of curiosity, what interest rate did you get on the bills you bought? You should check it with published auction results to make sure someone isn’t taking advantage of you.

The minimum was $10,000 long ago, apparently before you bought your first T-bill. I found this article from 1980 which talks about it. Kind of interesting to read the procedures for buying a T-bill back then, haha.

As I recall, the minimum purchase for notes and bonds was smaller.
I started buying T-Bills around 1983 or 1984 and don’t remember a $10,000 minimum but I wasn't buying less than $10,000 anyway. I do know it wasn’t a minimum of $3 million or even $50,000 and certainly isn’t now. I found a Treasury link that says the minimum for all Treasury Bills was reduced to $1,000 in 1998, 25 years ago.
