I suppose we are all aware of this beast: the dreaded Required Minimum Distribution. The required AMOUNT each year depends on the amount in your account and your age--- which gives a supposed "Distribution period" provided on a table published by the IRS.
BUT THE DISTRIBUTION TABLE is different for you, if:
a) your spouse is the only Primary Beneficiary AND
b) s/he is more than 10 years
younger than you.
People need to know about these things. (RMDs must start when you hit age 73.)
The necessary information and charts are in IRS Publication 590. Good luck finding those charts and tables and graphs. Who puts this stuff together? A team of monkeys from Neptune?
