Does it mean that "The guy from Belgium" rocks?

Funny Belgian experience story! Do you know where she was from in Belgium? What was her maternal language?

Well, it is true that you do get a very large meal in the U.S. European meals might seem a way too small for you though !

What can I say about Hy-Vee supermarket except that I am kind of disappointed with it ...

You make me wonder how much Belgians live in Iowa ...

I forgot where in Belgium she was from, but if I remember correctly she was originally from the Netherlands and Dutch was her primary language, but she spoke fluent English.

Every time I've been to Europa I've been satisfied with portion sizes, but I know in this part of the world you can get some ridiculously large portion sizes at restaurants. Check out the Machine Shed restaurant sometime to see what I mean.

Really? What's wrong with Hy-Vee? Some people prefer Dahl's. They both have their advantages/disadvantages. Some people also like Fareway, which is very no-frills but they have a decent butcher.

Belgians in Iowa? Probably not many. Many Iowans are of Dutch (see: Pella, Orange City) and German descent but I do not know of any historical Belgian settlements and I don't think I've ever met a person from Belgium that moved to Iowa.
