LAmes! I love it...that's what I call it myself. But then again I wouldn't be a true Hawkeye fan if I didn't loathe that city as well as everything within a 50 mile or so radius. For all I care Ames could literally fall of the face of the earth and the only thing I would miss would be harassing the 'Clone fans every time we beat them.

I don't really follow either team, but didn't ISU beat Iowa last year in football? Basketball too?

Ames definitely needs to improve its miserable downtown, but it is not the worst place on earth. Seems pretty clean, but not overly exciting. Iowa City is much better, but it is not exactly Austin, TX or Madison either.
