Wasn't it "Bobo" or something? I think they got a new clown in the past couple of years. That clown was pretty funny though, he could always get someone's blood boiling even if it wasn't in the most politically correct manner. I imagine they probably told him to tone it down a bit, I know he used to say all kinds of racist stuff to any Mexicans that walked by.

yeah it's Bobo!

I know there is more than one guy that does it. I love the gruff voice....always smoking a cig! ha! I agree, not very PC, but I find this kind of refreshing.

Anyway, this is a must see every year at least for a few minutes.

I think it's funny when people actually do try to fight him. I know he usually keeps around some good security, but when he's taking a break or something there's usually someone trying to step to Bobo.

I've never understood what is so amazing about the fair. I went once to see what it was like. I guess it's a good way to see what life was like in 1942.

I think if you didn't go as a kid, it's hard to "get into" the fair. I have been there in groups where it was somebody's first time, and they are open-mouth stunned at the experience. I have been going for 40-some years now and for me, part of the appeal is that it really hasn't changed that much - other than the skyrocketing prices. And the fact that Floppy isn't there anymore. And the aforementioned "political correctification" of the Law Enforcement building. And the elimination of the freak shows in the Midway.

Dammit, guess it isn't the same...

I've been going every year since 1984, somethings 2 to 4 times the same year(concerts). I love the funnel cake, the Iowa Pork Chop Building(go inside and sit down), the root beer from the barrel places(best bargin at the fair), and the Turkey Legs from the Turkey Federation, a Campbells Tenderlion, and a Corn dog of course. Most of this is split with other people! Theres a new place on the Triangle serving pork, potatoes, and onions that's fast becoming a favorite too.

Went to the fair the other day. Good times. I didn't eat everything I had planned to, but that's ok.
