Perhaps it may help to understand the definition of Prophet; A person who fortells the future is just one definition and just one concept of prophet

Rasool has always meant Rasool. It is just difficult to find an English word that means the same. Prphet comes the closest bu it is not quite the same.

Rasool means one who passes on a Message from God(swt) that may be predictions, a warning, a command, a Message etc or any combination.

The English word Prophet does have diverse meanings:

Many translators seem to feel Prophet is what comes closest to the Arabic Rasool

Considering how versatile the messages of god are, I san claim God told me so and so, and I am a prophet.

The world has had and continues to have self Proclaimed prophets. The fact one says they are a prophet does not mean they are.

It is our responsibility to see if there is reason to believe anyone called a prophet is actually a Prophet.

And there is absolutely nothing to indicate muhammed was a prophet, other than writings, that are way too long after the fact, and proven invalid.

Hell, Islam cannot even prove he existed at all.

That should only be of concern if someone was trying to convince anyone Muhammad(saws) is the final Prophet.

Right now I think we are first trying to define what Muslims believe is meant by a Rasool.

Jesus(as) is and has been a Prophet. He was before Muhammad(saws) He is not returning as a new Prophet, but returning to finish his life. He has never died and has to return in order to finish his life and die like all humans.
