Hey All,
My husband and I are considering moving to the Jackson area. We currently live thirty miles outside Raleigh, North Carolina. We live in a country setting but have everything we need within 15-20 minute drive.
We are 30-something, newlyweds with no babies on the horizon. We would like to have 2+ acres of land but not be completely in the sticks. Any suggestions on where to start our search?
Thanks so much!

The area around Pocahontas northwest of Jackson may be a good place to look. God bless.

There isn't alot in the area with acreage unless you go pretty far out of town. You may want to look in the Brandon are or north of Jackson (gluckstat, canton).

There are many subdivisions with 2 to3 acre lots in the vicinity of Hwy 463 in Madison. However, this is not the country and might be pricey. You could also look across the interstate along Green Oak and North Old Canton Rd.
In the Brandon area south of Lakeland Drive/Hwy 25 there is a more country feeling along Luckney Rd, Grants Ferry Rd and Hwy 471. There are also subdivisions with large lots along Northshore Pkwy and near Hwy 471 near the north shore of the reservoir.
There is an area called North Brandon Estates has huge wooded lots and is north of I-20 on the north side of Brandon. For the most country feeling, you could look in the community of Florence. This is not considered necessarily an affluent area but it is growing and prosperous and has pretty countryside around it. For a true country feeling the town of Mendenhall is very country and in a beautiful area of woodlands and hills.
