If you haven't heard Sweetie Pies opened up last Friday and after 20 mins they were told to shut it down. The fire marshal said it was fire hazard but other things I've read says that it was because the tenants were mad at the amount of people and I also heard that the other restaurants in the building were mad at the amount of customers going into Sweetie Pies. There's a a new article in the MS business journal https://msbusiness.com/2019/08/plaza...s-had-no-role/. It's a bunch of finger pointing. I would love to know why it was shut down.

1. Location of the smoker. He tried to put it on Congress with a power cord running into the building. Nah. Dumbass never discussed the smoker with the building landlord before showing up with it.
2. Long lines blocking the tiny lobby, which is used by building residents and other businesses (not other restaurants, they're in the next building). Lots of people live in the building, and don't want to have to fight their way in and out of crowds.

The smoker was still sitting there yesterday morning.

I was at the downtown Keifer's location around 11:45 today, people were lined up waiting to get in Sweetie Pies and employees were inside the building (with no customers inside). It looked as though no one knew what was going on. I asked the security guard and he didn't know either.

I hope it stays downtown.
