I am thinking about sending DD to one of these schools. I would love to hear from someone who has kids enrolled at either of these schools or a teacher who teaches there.

MRA is known as the "poor man's private school". It is a good school, don't get me wrong, but if you are looking for academics and your kid's future in the Jackson Metro business world, then JA is the right choice. JA is a powerhouse school with much better facilities and curriculum than MRA. MRA is basically a small private school without diversity. JA has a more diverse student body which wonderflully enhances the learning experience. However, I think everyone would agree, the creme de la creme is Jackson Prep. If you graduate from Prep, you can write your ticket in the Jackson Metro business community. The school is a who's who of who's what in this area.

Actually Id have to say Prep and JA are probably on the same base now and with JA building all there new facilities they will be the university of jackson before long, but if you want your kid to go to prep in 6th grade send him to first pres now thats where most prep kids go before they get to prep.

You are absolutely correct. First Presbyterian (First Pres) Day School is the entrance exam a kid needs for Jackson Prep.
