Hey yall Im moving back to Jax in the next month, but I'm not sure what I'll be doing so I'd like to keep my options open. I'd like to find a place in the southside/gate pkwy/touchton area that does 3 month leases or month to month if possible. Does anyone know of any?

I've heard that the paradise island way down by the avenues does but having lived across the street from there a few years back, im not sure i want to go there. however if its only for 3 months i guess it wouldnt be the end of the world.

i would like to be closer to gate and touchton if possible. any advice?

I doubt apartment complexes will do a 3-mo or month-to-month rent agreement,
but you can try to be a roommate with someone if you're looking for a short term lease.

We did Paradise Island for 3 months while our house was being built. They have a special arrangement where it's the same monthly rate for such a short time, as long as you can prove that you're actually doing construction. It wasn't too bad- lots of college kids and some noise and the weekends, playground facilities sucked, but other than that it was liveable.

Forgot to mention that PI was the only place we were able to find in JAX that had short term leases like that...

The difficulty you'll find is that any rental 6 months or less is considered a "hotel" or vacation rental and is subject to the hotel tax by the state of Florida. Formal leases generally are 7 months at the minimum because of that. However, there are some (few and far between) circumstances in which landlords can sublet for a shorter term. In our apartment search experience, we didn't find anything less than 7 months in any decent places to live. I'd honestly scour the classifieds looking for someone seeking a roommate as IndigoLight suggested, or look for someone wanting to sublet their apartment for a short time. Or change focus a bit and think about temporary living for 7 months rather than 3.

My apartment complex does month by month rentals but they're really, really, really expensive if you go that way ...
