I know it sounds silly but I just moved in Jax from Hong Kong. I'm Filipina, 23y/o Just married My husband is working and I am stuck all day at home ;( I can't drive as I don't have a driver's license so I can't really do anything

I am under immigration proceedings in order for me to be legal to work and hopefully if all goes well be a resident as me and my Husband decided to move back here to be close to his mom who has heart complications..

I was just wondering if someone needs to hang out with? Preferably a girl, a housewife or someone who is just bored like me that is in Jacksonville

I am friendly and I don't care about races or anything. Just want to meet new friends and acquaintances! Hit me up if you're interested!

Cheers everyone x

Default Try a Meetup group!

Go to Meetup.com and enter your zip code. It's a great way to find like-minded people to spend time with while doing things that you enjoy.

If you are in walking distance to businesses and organizations I would say offer to volunteer. That would be a great way to meet new people and you'd be doing something helpful that would have a positive impact on the community.

There are a fair number of Filipinos who work for the military here. Perhaps the military has public on-line bulletin boards where you might make contact? Also - you might explore the grocery stores that sell Filipino food - see if they have bulletin boards.

Also - if you need an immigration lawyer - give a holler. I'm a retired Florida lawyer and a good friend of mine - whose firm is probably the best in the state - recently opened a branch office in Jacksonville. Nothing in it for me except to see that people spend their hard earned money on good lawyers. Robyn

I don't recall. I was an assistant district attorney in Philadelphia in the early 1970's - and that was a long time ago.

Why do you ask? Robyn

What part of town do you live in? My wife is from Indonesia. I know there aren't a lot of Asian people here in Jacksonville. If you like, send me a direct message with your email and I'll give it to her.

Well a lot of bad things happen in prisons. So you lived in Philly...Did you know Will Smith?

Haha...I'd say theyre both pretty dang hot in the summer, not terribly cold in the winter. Other than that, absolutely no similarities I can think of.

Welcome to Jax, Roxy! I am also a Lee. Hope you make friends quickly. There are plenty of Filipinos, btw. Chinese (like me) not so much. (Not that you need to hang out with Asians or anything)
