OK the trust is settled and plan to move to fl. in the spring...March-April. I want to be between the above cities. Retired on limited income, want to rent apartment, 1 BR not on the beach but within 10-15 miles. I heard it was cooler closer to the beach. Live in OR now so the change in climate will be a challenge but being closer to family is worth it. Have small dog. Are their 55+ communities in this vicinity, nice apts that don't cost an arm and a leg, I think my limit would be about $600/mo. Oh yes, I want a W/D hookup. I have that here in OR but I feel like I live in a dump as with new managers the maintainence has definitely been affected. Any opinion on screened in patio. My sister in St. Aug thinks it is a must. I'm thinking misquitos which are here but not really an issue. All input appreciated! I can hardly wait!

Palm Coast, Bunnell or Ormond Beach are the cities in between. There are some 55+ communities. Very Suburban for the most part A car is needed.Bunnell is the county seat of Flagler County and looks like a rundown old County Seat.

You may want to look in the Riverside Area of Jacksonville. There are some Senior Citizen apartments( and regular etc) You cna find less expensive apartments and dependign on your situation housing assitance. But you would be in walking distance of stores, parks, churces, restaurants etc and only about 15 minutes from the beach and very close to the St Johns River. Only about 30 minutes from St Augustine
