My boyfriend and I are moving to Ponte Vedra in early Sept (SO SOON!), and need to find an apartment. We just found out he got a job YESTERDAY! I am getting stressed because I have never been to the area.

Ideally, we would like to live within walking distance (a mile or two) from a grocery store, restaurants, bars, etc. I definitely want a washer/dryer in the unit and something NOT bug infested!! Bugs creep me out way too much! I know there will be some because there always is, though. We are looking in Jax Beach area and in Ponte Vedra Beach area. His office is in Ponte Vedra and the best would be something where he could walk to work. Oh, and nothing that breaks the bank!

If ANYONE knows anything that sounds like it would be a good fit, PLEASE, please let me know!!

You will need to tell us what price rent will not "break the bank", size of the apartment you need and if you have pets.

Nothing that will break the bank? Kind of leaves Ponte Vedre out of the equation. Ponte Vedre is a great area but it is expensive. Now if you can find one of the Ponte Vedre Lakes apartment/condos maybe a 2/2 you might be able to rent one of them for just under $1000 ... here's a link ... I don't know that you're going to find something cheap, in a walkable area, AND in Ponte Vedra. I think at least two of those are doable but not all three. Ponte Vedra is still pretty ritzy for the most part, and the houses within walking distance of anything aren't especially cheap....

South Jacksonville Beach might be the answer for you unless you can pay more for Ponte Vedra. Walkability? Don't count on it; a bicycle might work, but you pretty much have to depend on a car.

Thank you for all the advice! We are looking for anything under $1000...under $900 if possible! I have been looking at Jacksonville Beach but have not been having any luck finding an apartment complex or condo for rent. Any suggestions in that area?

One complex that we were looking at is the Avistele. Does anyone know anything about these apartments?

Try looking at www.hotpads.com I saw a couple properties there under $1000 in the area you are looking in.
