A big day but they're not going anywhere. The team is staying in Jacksonville.

A little worrisome, but people should take a wait and see approach rather than playing chicken little.

I don't live in Jacksonville, but I have a strong affinity for the area and I want to make sure the city keeps its one major league sports team. I'm originally from Maryland, and while I don't have any memories myself of when the Colts were ripped away from Baltimore, I still heard from many others as to how devastating a loss that was to the city, and I would hate Jacksonville to have to go through that same process.

But hopefully the new owner will keep his word that the team is staying here. And currently, I still have the San Diego Chargers and/or Minnesota Vikings as the frontrunners of teams that might leave for LA. Both of those teams have old, outdated stadiums, which is actually more of an issue in relocation than attendance struggles. Jacksonville's stadium isn't nearly as old or outdated as either of those teams.

Heard on the news the new owner is looking into buying a house here in Jax. Plus Wayne Weaver said it would cost between 70 & 80 Million $$$$ to break the lease and move the team anywhere else.

I was waiting for a big announcement saying JDR would be fired in the upcoming weeks or at the end of the season. Todays news about the Jags was really BIG!!! I never saw that coming

Thanks to the Weavers for all their charitable contributions over the years.

He didn't get to a point in his life where he could pay cash for a NFL franchise if he couldn't get out of a lease if he wanted to.

LoL, bye bye jags...

Well, at least that twice a year use stadium got a little makeover in the process. The old gator bowl was looking pretty sad, almost as bad as the citrus bowl looks now.
