OK guys, here's another one for you.

Moving to Palencia next month and don't know where to begin to find out what's available for the boys (5th and 7th grade). Especially anything that would have summer sign ups. Not sure I want to jump into anything right away, but it would be nice to have the chance to meet other kids...

Thanks! These forums have been so helpful!

I'll be following this too. We are also moving to Palencia next month. My boys are younger (going into 3rd and 1st grades...plus a preschooler).

Nice to see other people are moving into the area.

I have no idea what to tell you about Palencia, hopefully someone will chime in. What I can tell you is that here in Julington Creek, there is a gigantic kids sports league called the Creeks Athletic Association. Essentially all kids sports in this area are run by them. You may be able to give them a call and see what they recommend about Palencia, as they'd be at least knowledgeable in who they set up for competition.

no clue about Palencia, it is out there and we (Creeks Athletic) don't play any clubs in that area. Might have to go up to Ponte Vedra's clubs for a team.

Yeah, I kind of figured we may have to travel for a team, but I don't know which direction is closest....I'm a newbie to the area

Which sports do your kids play? I do know that Palencia has a summer and year round swim team.

I know that there are soccer leagues that play out of Davis Park which is just east of Nocatee ~ It might be the Ponte Vedra League. That would probably be the closest to Palencia for soccer. Not sure about baseball/softball in that area - does anyone know if they have that at Davis Park? Would also love to know about Tennis.

there is talk about combining the Premier programs at each, but at this time, no vote has been taken by either club. Still looking into it. Recreation soccer would continue to be separate.

Baseball is the number one. They also play basketball and would like to get into lacrosse, maybe a flag football league. We don't have either of those here in Panama City.
