Did anyone else see in the paper that two closed Food Lions in the Jax area will be turned into Walmart "Marketplaces"? I'm wondering if anyone knows where they'll be? I'll have mixed emotions if it's at the one near us on San Jose and Racetrack...

don't think the one at 13 and Racetrack is part of this first wave.

Walmart Neighborhood Markets average 42,000 square feet — about one-fourth the size of a supercenter — with merchandise limited to what's found in a typical grocery store. (i.e., groceries)

The folks commenting on the T-U forum crack me up. They seem thrilled about these coming. WMNM's are not that good, even from a pricing perspective. I would love to see Rowe's IGA become more of a player here. They have a great little grocery store on Beach Blvd. & seem to have no problem competing against the Walmart across the street.
