We currently have our child in private school in Jax and are considering making the move to St. John's County (Julington Creek area) for a variety of reasons, schools being one of them.

Has anyone in City-Data land taken their kid(s) out of private school in Jax and placed them in the St. Johns County public school system?

If so, what was your experience (good or bad)?

Also, anyone that has experience with St. John's County schools in general, feel free to post your experiences (good or bad) as well.

Thanks!

I just moved into the Aberdeen subdivision which is in the Julington creek area and I brought my boy from the Chicago Catholic Schools. I am very impressed with the schools here. I know that the private schools have lower student teacher ratios, but the variety of classes offered, the advanced offerings are fabulous. The resources here are put to good use. I'm glad to be out of the catholic system. They are just too antiquated for our family going forward. My son will thrive in this new school (Creekside). I'm happy to have made the change.

I have heard of many people bringing their kids here from Jax private schools, and they are very happy. Especially with the $$ they are saving!
