I am flying in next month to scout out where we might want to live. Looking at the schools and neighborhoods, amenities, shopping, kid friendly activities. And of course the beaches!

Any must see things?

I have been to Fernandina Beach before and loved the area. So now I want to look at it more closely.

Then I plan to drive south and spend some time around PVB and Nocatee. Mainly because I have heard the schools are better there and I have a 7 yr. old and 2 one year olds.

That being said, we really did love the island when we were there.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Use the "Search" button and type Fernandina Beach. You might also be interested in Yulee and other developments surrounding the island.

Once you have your "short list", be certain to visit each of the areas at night and on weekends, as well as during the day. How things look during one part of the day/week isn't always the best indicator of how safe it will remain after dark. My old neighborhood was perfectly peaceful during the day, but once the trouble-makers woke up (usually around 4-ish or so in the afternoon), it turned into an urban war-zone.
