I was hoping to get some opinions on the Florida Club Condominiums at the Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club. I am looking to retire to a reasonably quiet, safe and clean place. I have looked online at hundreds of condos in Florida and most of them seem to be short & long term rentals, with many foreclosures. I was hoping to find a place to live under $100,000 that has owner occupied, year-round residents. So far, no luck. Any feedback about living in St. Augustine much appreciated. Thanks.

Florida Club is well located and well built with a mixture of owners renters and students. If I was retiring it would not be my first choice I would also look at Vista Cove and Sebastion Cove.

check out the Legends at World Golf Village. It's a mixture of retires and families. Condo rules limit the number of units that can be rented. Although the prices are going up I believe you can still purchase under $100,000.

Take a look at The Conquistador Condos. These are older condos but many have been well updated / renovated. Here's a link for those that are currently for sale.

They are in St. Augustine Shores in the area very close to the community clubhouse, pier, park and the river. I know several people who live here and they are very happy. There is a good mixture of ages but many units are owner occupied by retirees.

Condos - St. A - overhead noise on lower floors?
The forum is a huge help to me. I am curious about overhead noise in any of the condo buildings in St. Augustine. I lived in a condo years ago and the overhead noise (walking, TV, etc.) was so bad we had to sell. Like most people, I think first of a top floor but in lieu of that, a lower floor with good noise protection would work too. Thanks again for prior replies, any info appreciated. M.
