Traffic is awful everywhere but I like Gateparkway...its close to St. Johns Town Center which will meet all your shopping needs!

thanks moving and mandy. We may be keen to look at condos in very good neighbourhood. We are not sure where to look, which site to visit? If anyone has any specific suggestion in terms of any good condos for rent, we will be really grateful.

the aventine is a very nice area right near the town center which has amazing shopping. the best around and best dining by far. but the traffic is horrendous!! the whole road is backed up so you will have a hard time leaving and coming home especially around rush hour. its very congested due to business parks and all the resedential areas. I have been to the enclave several times and its everage. everything around that area is somewhat ghetto and i dont mean that in a derragatory way i just mean the crime rate is high. but on the other hand it is only 5 min. from atlantic beach. You may want to try mirabella next door to aventine. my husband lived there and it is nicer.

It's ghetto? Many of our Jaguar football players live literally across the street in their million dollar homes (Queen's Harbour is popular with the players).

I've lived in Paradise Island and Village Walk. Village Walk is nearly new, has a strip mall with a coffee shop, dry cleaner and Chinese food next to it, and is very nice.
Paradise Island used to be nice but it is falling apart. It's also very old and it is getting dangerous. Avertine is old too...
You might want to try Thornton Park, it's brand new, off the other end of Gate Parkway. It would be a hoof to Publix on Touchton but it's closer to a grocery than Village Walk. I hate to say it but Jacksonville, you need a car.
