Hello~ Are any of you familiar with Jacksonville Pediatrics near Southside Blvd? I was told this was a good facility, but would like additional opinions. Thank you!

We used to be with them years ago, but when Dr Benitez opened his own practice we followed. No complaints, but my kids rarely needed more than the usual checkups.

You should check out 24hourkidcare, which is where we go now. Dr B and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, plus they are open 24/7 so if you need to get in at night for that bedtime earache -you can.

I would avoid 24hourkidcare. We had nothing but problems with them when we went there. The rooms are dirty and the staff is rude and unhelpful. We took our daughter there because of an ear infection and had nothing but trouble. They charged us more for the visit than I was quoted, insisted on running a strep test even though none of her symptoms pointed to strep, and when the antibiotic that they prescribed had zero effect on her symptoms informed me that I would have to bring her back and pay for another doctor's visit in order to get a new one.

I suppose that if you're facing an emergency that isn't serious enough for the hospital E.R. at 3 a.m. they're better than not having any choice, but if you need a regular doctor for checkups and general ailments I'd look somewhere else.

Wow. That's unfortunate. We've always been pleased with them. Interesting to see both sides of the coin.
