You should take a look at the houses in Ocean Trace as well. Excellent construction. Poured concrete walls!

ssclulow- Thanks for confirmation about that development. Heard from a lawyer and an insurance person that they make good 'first homes'...my husband and I felt the houses in other developments, though older, were of higher quality. Had NO IDEA that Ocean Trace even existed! Like a little pocket of heaven! Thank you so much!!!

Default Sea Grove

Do you know anything about the construction of the houses in Sea Grove? Also, does it flood?

I believe that most of the homes in Sea Grove are wood frame. There are some block homes in the custom home section.

Have you given any thought to a condo? There are many nice ones right on the beach and almost all of them have pools.

Default Made a purchase

Thank you ALL for the helpful advice. We spent a lot of time recently in SAB, and purchased a home in Sea Grove! The pool there is lovely, as is the community. Newer construction, with cement block and up to date hurricane resistant roofing- we close soon and are very happy with our choice. Only .9 miles to the beach, and walking distance to the P.O., library and restaurants & wine store- we are in heaven. Thanks- we checked out ALL the subdivisions and found the place that was best suited to us. Thanks again.

Welcome to St Augustine Beach! You will love Sea Grove. I know many people who live there. All are very happy with their choice.

Hi Florida friends!

Found this great thread! My husband and I are in the same situation Cathlynd was back in 2015. We are living in Washington state, looking to relocate to Anastasia Island, at some of the same neighborhoods mentioned above.
We were just in Florida last week but never got to do any house-hunting because the virus shut everything down and we took an earlier flight to avoid becoming stranded.
The only wrinkle in our search is that we have an active (50#) dog and would love to have a fence (nothing imposing) but are finding many HOAs do not allow them. Does anyone know which neighborhoods might be more welcoming to dogs and/or fences?
A couple of my current favorite houses are in Anastasia Lakes but when I googled the HOA I thought some of their communications were "persnickity." Is this the flavor there or am I reading too much into it?
I welcome all opinions and suggestions about Anastasia Islands neighborhoods and hope to hear how Seagate is treating Cathlynd!
Thanks!
