GOLFERS: Are there any child friendly courses out there? I am looking for a course where there is not a scratch player breathing down our necks as my little kid is hitting the ball on the fairway.

I am open to par 3s or any other course to fit the bill.

There's par 3 on 210 near Nocatee for starters, and I think the Hampton courses are child friendly although I'm not sure how open to the public they are. You also might try Windsor ? chase on Hodges, Jax Beach public course, too.

There is a "First Tee Program" with a three hole course near the st johns municipal course?...they even have special lessons for kids. Can't think of the community name...it's just west of 95 on the south side of 207.

UNF has a great practice area, with a 4 hole full size course
The 1st Tee in St Johns is at the St Johns county public course, at 207 and 95 at Cypress Lakes, also !st Tee - jacksonville is off 95 and edgewood on the northside

The World Golf Village has a mini-golf course that is one of the best I've ever seen.

It's not one of those tacky mini golf course we see everywhere, it's really nice - even for adults without kids.

Deerfield Lakes in Callahan is a nice friendly affordable public course. South Hampton is a very nice player friendy semi-public course. Fernandina Beach Municipal is another good public course that you and your son might like. Mill Cove is also pretty good as a father and son course. You also might check North Hampton; they used to let kids play free with their parent on Sunday. You would have to check that though as it has been about three years since I was there.
