I've been out there some this week and even in the evening, like 8pm, 8:30pm, and - WOW! - traffic really never stops there!

I've been there past 10pm and there's STILL traffic. Total traffic disaster out there.

Talking Not at all crazy

Yeah, 1 mile from the dead end of Hodges North of JTB it was total gridlock on Saturday morning. Sunday it was very busy all day... not JTB but Hodges! WTF? Then Tuesday night, I had a meeting downtown, at 6:40 pm WESTBOUND JTB was completely stopped. I realized Hodges was also very busy, no point in checking Beach so I called in and canceled. Thursday last week it was wide open on JTB all the way to about 1/2 way between Southside (too late to bail) and Southpointe. I-95 and JTB was 4 lanes of parked cars. I finally got off the dang thing and headed north to Hogan Road, left on Hogan, to Parental Home, right on Parental Home and Left on the fast lanes of Beach, which quickly got me onto the Hart connector and into downtown.

Don't know my traffic? Hardly. I met my wife... "Hippie meets Nun" in Los Angeles. I remember taking 5 hours once getting from Riverside to Santa Clarita! For those who have never been, something like going from Jax Beach to Yulee before the days of freeways. But nope, here we sat on I-10 for hours and hours. We finally got the Pasadena and up and into the Foothill which got us around what ever had caused it. Now the wonder is, when I go back I have no traffic problems EVER! Now I drive from my property to Palm Springs, catch the train and am in downtown Los Angeles faster then you can drive to Orlando! NICE! Long Beach? Hollywood? easy Light Rail or Subway, all connected to BRT feeders. No lines, no more!

whatever, you and I don't seem to share the same experiences, and last weekend was that marathon race, maybe that was the cause of your problems, many roads in that area were closed

Ocklawaha! You're not supposed to tell everyone about Hogan Road! That's one of my secret shortcuts! Shhh!

Cool Hogan Road...Missing the opportunity

At one time the Hart connector was to go all the way to and perhaps become JTB. As it ended at Beach, it turned out to be the road to no-where. Even today this could be salvaged without displacement of too many residents or businesses. Somehow, route that 4 lane, which I'd bump up to 6 lanes roughly along Hogan, and hence either full freeway on Southside or on it's own right-of-way to JTB. Nice interchange and another widening of JTB and we'd have a long term solution to much of the Southside traffic troubles.

I understand some rich politico type stopped the Hart connector back in the early days of its building because they had designs on some land ??? St. Johns town center maybe? Yet it seems to have been their best possible move.

Default Hi ..new to JAX from Jersey

Hi, I just moved here & I have a job at LPS to start soon. Location is Riverside Ave on the west side. I am staying in Orange Pk right now. Exploring for my own apt. I would like to get a bit further away from Orange Pk. for family reasons.

Does any one know what commuting over the Fuller-Warren bridge from the east side of the river to the west is like?

I looked at apts in Avondale & Riverside but the only suitable ones seem to be luxury apts right on river & I do not need real luxury for now. Others close in seemed to be not good neighborhoods. Not keen on going further west from Riverside. Woudl rather go toward ocean.

Any help or info whatsoever woudl be greatly appreciated. Then I will help other newbies who move down here for sure & use your site.

Thank you...
