I've been planning for months, I need to know how are the women's shelters in Jacksonville or Saint Augustine? I know most people won't understand. . But i am coming from another state and trying to choose the best place for my daughter and I. I'm a nurse and have no issue with employment, just need a place to hide, rest and get some help before getting on my feet. Please don't degrade me, just want to know if they are habitable. Thank you#

I don't know but hope someone can help. Best of luck to you. Sounds like it may be a good decision for you and your daughter. Stay safe! And watch what you post from a home computer.

I'd try to find a shelter that is on the east side of Jacksonville, or St. Johns County, or St. Augustine. Be careful about locations in Jacksonville.

The first one that comes to mind is Hubbard House. I am a man so I don't know how it is inside. It is one of the most well known in the area for just women.

If you google "women's shelter Jacksonville" you will get several listings including most of homeless shelters. I think they may have separate facilities for women.

Good luck

Betty Griffin House serves St Johns County. I do not know how the shelter itself is, but it may be worth checking into. Best of luck to you and your daughter.

Hubbard House (800-500-1119) or Betty Griffin House (904-824-1555) should be able to help you. Both are domestic violence focused, not homeless focused.

Be safe, be strong, you've got this.

Betty Griffin in St. Aug has a huge presence and is well-respected by all. Be very safe, protect yourself and your daughter at all costs.
