My girlfriend is going to Jax tomorrow and wants to know if the Skyway costs $.50 only when you get on, or if you must pay another $.50 each stop it makes, even if you do not get off. Haha.. I know, you can laugh, but we just don't know for sure. Personally, I've never ridden it.

I just need a quick answer. Thanks for the help.

You might find the answer here:

I can't imagine that they would charge you for each stop....just one charge to get on until you decide to get off......that would be the "normal" way anyway.

It would be one fee of .50 for the whole route unless you get off at one stop and then get back on later then there would be a charge. In Miami they let you ride the metromover for free.

Default Skyway Fare

Here you pay your .50 cents to get into the cage, once your in the stations, you "could" ride all day, back and forth, up and down etc... If you leave the station area's only then would you have to pay another .50 cents.

This makes the Skyway ideal for trouring out of town guests. Park at one location, board and ride, transfer, ride again, up down, transfer, up and down and finally go back to your original station. You can see the whole system for .50 cents.

0.50 per rider X 1 rider per week X 52 weeks = 26.00 dollars per year gross skyway income. Well, I think they get at least one rider per week. Tax money must cover the rest of the operating costs. 26 bucks if they get a rider per week all year. Not too shabby. Gotta love Jag-sun-veal.

Ha!

Actually, people do use it for commuting. When I worked downtown, I'd see people using it coming and going during rush hours...a lot of people used it actually. Outside of rush hour, it is dead though, that is true.
