Hi All! My family and I will be moving to JAX in the near future. My company is headquartered in Riverside Ave in JAX and we are looking to live in St. John's or PVB, but there are many areas to choose from. We just came across River Oaks Plantation off 13 and Google is telling me to take either 13 N to 295 to 95 or 13 N to 295 to 10 into the city. I was hoping someone could tell me if either routes would be realistic and doable to take during rush hour? I have some flexibility on when I leave in the morning and when I come home at night. Thanks in advance! We can't wait to get there.

Either way you go.. that will be a long commute to Riverside
Especially during commute times.

Depends what you are used to/expecting. It is pretty bad (for a mid-sized city) during rush hour. If you are in the office by 730 and heading home by 4 I would think you'll be ok most days, although somedays (often Fridays) traffic on that route can start to build up by 4 in the afternoon.

Most likely I'd stick to either doing the 295-to-95 route or going up 13 all the way, and just check google beforehand to decide.

Lol! Jax is the 11th largest city in the country. Hardly mid-sized.

Once could say we have good traffic conditions for a city of our size.......

I used to live in Fruit Cove and work downtown. I took 13/San Jose most of the way.
Once you get across Julington Creek Bridge, take Mandarin Road/Flynn Road to Scott Mill and then to Beauclerc Rd where it meets with 13/San Jose again.

Left at 7:30am and it took about 45-50 minutes.
About and hour drive on the ride home.

There is a steep dropoff from LA/NY/Chicago to Jax, which is a good thing.

Many people use the term city to refer to the metro area. Jax is a mid-sized metro. Sorry for not being specific enough.

Flynn road has multiple stop signs, speed limit 35 mph and cops watching you speed. We once drove this way and it took so much longer then the regular rt via San Jose
