Hello All,

My husband works for the government and is being located from Virginia to St. Augustine.
His start date is end of this November, so we are planning on visiting the area end of this month to find a place to live. I have MS and need one level living. We are looking for an over 55 community that has manufactured homes for rent. Being that we're new in the area we feel uncomfortable to purchase right away without getting the feel of the area. If there is anyone who can give me some input on places to look that have rentals in those type of communities It would be greatly appreciated.
We are trying to make the commute no more than a one-hour time frame. Less would be much better, but we're open to ideas. Thank you so much!

Anne

I'm not aware of any 55+ with manufactured homes, but D.R. Horton has a community that might fit the bill. It's called San Salito. (Probably no rentals yet)

There's a Pulte 55+ (I think they just rebranded to Del Webb) in Bannon Lakes which is just off International Golf Parkway and I95. (I doubt there'd be much available to rent in there as they're still building.)

I have some clients renting in Cascades currently and they like it. There's one for rent currently here.

Two locations to put on your list are as follows:

Del Webb @ Ponte Vedra, a Pulte brand, which is in Nocatee:

Also, Villages of Seloy which is being built by UniFlorida IV is another great choice:

Senior Housing St Augustine FL | 55 Community | Villages of Seloy

There are no Age restricted manufactured home communities in NE Florida. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Not a good idea with our periodic whirly winds here in FLA. In addition manufactured homes are a depreciating asset and a very poor investment.
