My fiancee and I are looking to potentially move to Jacksonville (We're not totally sure where we want to live yet, just wanting to leave St. Petersburg.) We're looking for a decent 2 bedroom apartment in a safe area for a max of 1100. We want to be in a somewhat busy area, with lots of restaurants, close (within 20-30 mins to downtown). ATT Fiber would be nice, but isn't required.

Word of advice pick another city. This place sucks. I am leaving next month. I have lived all over country and hands down this is worst city we have ever lived. Super rude, uneducated, horrible food, horrific drivers, astronomical crime, mundane nightlife, poorly ran public schools, doesn’t feel like a big city, seriously lacks character. Come here for a month and you will see. I am sure people are going to be livid about what I said this is MY opinion.

Jacksonville has been a major disappointment. Major! Try other cities in FL. I heard Melbourne is a nice place. I’m sure there are a lot of nice cites in FL to relocate. If your open to other states Texas is SUPER nice.

Every large city has issues with certain parts of towns and Jacksonville is no different. For a young couple I would suggest the Town Center or Southside area.

I second this, but there are certain areas of the Southside that are better than other areas. Not sure if the OP could afford the Town Center. A max of $1,100 can get a 2-bedroom, but not sure where.

I agree, $1100 is getting a bit harder to find in some of the nicer areas closer to shopping and resturants!

Good luck and welcome.......just remember Jacksonville is huge land wise and pretty spread out!
