That was when Allegiant's fleet had a bunch of very old MD planes. Since then, most of Allegiant's fleet has been upgraded to new planes and they no longer fly any MD planes. The new planes have been assigned to the Florida routes. For the past year or so every Allegiant plane I flew was less than 1 year old. Never had any issues. I refused to fly them when they had all those issues but those issues were related to the old planes. Now those old planes have been removed from their fleet.

Many of these incidents had involved Allegiant's aging MD-80 aircraft, which as of November 2018 have been replaced by newer Airbus A320 family aircraft.
