Are there any medical coders in the house? I am looking into medical coding schools near South side. There are a lot to choose from and i'm researching to find what ones have a proven track record when it comes to becoming job ready as well as the job placement history of the institutions. Initially i thought Florida State College would be the best way to go, but North campus is a nothing short of hellish trek for me and i don't drive at the moment. Also, I have a certificate in medical administrative work and got a small background in icd9 and cpt. Now I am furthering my education in that field as i enjoyed the taste of it. Any information is greatly appreciated!

I used to pay claims, its really hard to get a coding job. Have you thought about anything else in the medical field?

I thought jobs were abundant in coding right now... in the hospitals anyway... not coding and billing , just coding. There is a big difference that not many people seem to know.

I have a certificate in medical administrative specialist work which covered transcription, a lil bit of coding, but mostly office duties and i just don't want to do that anymore. Plus, it seems to be worth jack when i apply for jobs. It was supposed to encompass a whole line of duties but really I was just paying to be prepared for an office job as a medical secretary when they told me it would prepare me for many other positions like coder and transcriptionist.
