i was wondering what a decent area would be to purchase home in city. I looking for low cost and of european background ,so i want an area where i wouldnt stand out so much. Any help appreciated.

that would be very helpful as "low cost" is relative.

I'll be curious about the answers as we, too, are seeking a place to live in Jacksonville. But we will want to rent near the water.

You weren't specific about what European country, but I'll throw an observation out there anyway.

There is a good-sized number of eastern europeans (Bosnian and Serbian) living near the river just south of downtown. I see them in the local coffee shops and other places in the area regularly. Zip code 32217 will put you right in the center of this and there are some very nice affordable homes in the zip. You can expand your search into zips 32207 and 32257.

Another area that has very mixed ethnicities is the Intracoastal West area. Try 32246 for starters.
