I tried one Catholic church which shall remain nameless last weekend and...hmm, I'm not sure what it was, but it bore little resemblance to Catholic churches in Baltimore.

Do any of you know of one that's more...what's the word...relaxed or liberal??

thx

Southern Baptist is king in these here parts. Nothing liberal about religion here. You are now in the Bible Belt. Very conservative town.

Don't know about liberal churches, but Resurrection is very friendly and not at all ideological. It's on University, just down the street from JU.

Christ The King in Arlington is one of the older, well known Catholic churches in Jax. I was at a funeral there not long ago and found the mass the be similar to what I remember up North, you might was to give it a try:

Also Smash, if you're up to heading downtown, there is a beautiful old church, "Immaculate Conception", that you'd probably like:

I think you'd like the mass here too based on what you've said .

This is the one.

St. Paul Parish
224 North Fifth Street
Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250

It is one of the less boring Catholic masses in the area that I had to sit through with my wife so far.
